Lawrence Memorial wins quality awardsLawrence Memorial Hospital won the top two awards for critical access hospitals at the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care’s Annual Quality Awards program on Friday, May 21. The awards are designed to recognize individual performance improvement in AFMC’s quality improvement projects, and honor organizations with the highest positive change in their scores on a set of specific health care measures. With scores at 100 percent in the core measures of congestive heart failure and pneumonia, LMH brought home both the Most Improved Award and the Best Achievement Award.
The awards were presented by Dr. Barry M. Straube, director of the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality (OCSQ) and the chief medical officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), at a luncheon during AFMC’s 17th Annual Quality Conference in Little Rock. For 38 years, the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care has worked to improve the health of Arkansans through utilization review, quality improvement projects and public education. AFMC congratulates Lawrence Memorial Hospital on its commitment to high-quality health care. |
