Lawrence Memorial wins safety awards

Lawrence Memorial Hospital won two Arkansas Hospital Association safety awards at a recent meeting on June 3.

The association’s quality and safety project, “On the CUSP: Stop BSI,” is a voluntary joint effort of hospitals across the state to eliminate central-line associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs). CUSP—which stands for Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program—is a national voluntary program adopted by the AHA to make healthcare safer in Arkansas and reduce healthcare costs.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital was one of three facilities recognized as a Project Champion. The hospital was also among those recognized for “Reducing CLABSIs to Zero for 6 Months or Greater.”
